I am a graduate of Barton College in 1993 with a BS in Education.

I am going into my 25th year of teaching.  It just doesn't seem like it has been 25 years.  I have seen many programs come and go, but the one thing that has stayed the same throughout my career is that I love children.  Teaching is the best thing in the world.

I began teaching in middle school - the 7th grade at Forest Hills Middle.  During that time, I had my first son, Colin.  He is now going to school to be a paramedic and using that knowledge to be an Army Combat Medic.  After several years, l decided it was time for a change and I got transfered to Winstead Elementary.  I taught 4th grade.  I also taught at Margaret Hearne 4th grade.  While I was at Hearne, my second son was born, Jacob.  He is going into middle school this year.  He is on the Autism Spectrum.  Then came a great teaching opportunity, I got to come to Elm City Elementary where I taugh AYP.  I have been here ever since.  I have taught 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th ( all ), and 5th Math.

I was born in Goldsboro,NC " about a hundred years " ago.  I went to Atlantic Christian College and graduated in 1993 with a degree in Early Childhood Education.     I am the proud parent of two great boys!  The oldest is going to school to be a paramedic.  He will use this training to go to MS ( military school) to become an Army Combat Medic.  My youngest is going into Middle School.    I have been teaching for 25 years.  I have always taught in WCS.  The most important thing about me is that I love children and I want them to be successful!
